One of the most popular questions asked about Facebook is Whats the difference between a Facebook group and a Facebook page?
Pages allows individuals, organizations, businesses, company brands and celebrities to communicate with people who like them. Pages may only be created and managed by that individual or an official of that organizations or business.
Groups provide a private space for people to communicate about shared interests, beliefs or ideas. Groups can be created by anyone.
Once a group is created, your group members can participate in chats, upload photos to shared albums, collaborate on group documents, poll the group, chat with everyone at once and invite all members to group events.

You can control who sees your group –
There are 3 options available:
Secret: Only members can see the group and what members post.
Closed: Anyone can see the group. Only members see posts.
Open (public): Anyone can see the group and what members posts.
Group members receive notifications by default when any member posts in the group.
How do I start a Facebook Group?
Go to your your Facebook home page and click ‘Create Group’ in the left hand column. If you have existing groups, you may need to click ‘More’ before you see this link.
A pop-up box will appear, where you will be able to add a group name, add members and select the privacy setting for your group.
Click the ‘Create Group’ button when you’re finished.
Once the group is created, you will be taken to the group’s page. To get started click
at the top right of the page and select ‘Edit Group’. From here you can add a group description, set a group email address, add a group picture and manage members.
To add new members to a group, simply go to the Members heading in the right column, and add friends’ names in the open field.
For all types of groups (open, closed and secret), group members can add their friends. Other people can request to join an open or closed group and be confirmed by a group admin.
